School Continuing Education Programs syllabus must meet Yoga Alliances
must comprise of 85 hours in total (50 contact and 35 non-contact-hour).
Continuing Education can
include Specialty Programs: Prenatal Yoga or Childrens Yoga must
comprise of 80 hours contact and 5 non-contact hours.
Yoga School Continuing Education Programs can only be presented by an Experience
Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT). The requirements detailed below ensure that all
trainees of a RYS receive training and instruction in the three educational categories
for a minimum number of designated hours. Topics in this category could include,
but would not be limited to:
Techniques: Contact hours in this category must be spent teaching in a yoga
setting into which the student might be invited.
Methodology: Principles of demonstration, observation, assisting, correcting,
instruction-cueing, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher
